Light snow fell over the city as the Yellow Cab came to a stop at Safehouse Denver’s Emergency Shelter. A young woman and small girl stepped onto the sidewalk and into the welcoming arms of a Domestic Violence Advocate and the promise of safety inside.
Anne had left her violent husband and was deeply concerned for her daughters safety. Anne and Sophie were two of the 30 residents at Safehouse over the 2013 holiday season. Anne is now working full-time and Sophie is a loving, well-adjusted kindgarten.
