Shifting the Foundations

Shifting means to move or cause to move from one place to another, especially over a small distance. It also means to change in emphasis, direction, or focus. When God is shifting in your life, he’s moving things in small distances to another place. When we let go of all the lies, work to unearth and untangle the lies we believe, and make choices to move towards truth, we enable the Lord the shift the foundation of our life.

Shake off the Fears

When we shake off the fear of man, our own fears, insecurities, doubts and unbelief, we shift. 1 John 4:18 says, “There is no fear in love; perfect love drives out ALL fear.” One of the many ways we get rid of the fear of man, is to realize who and want is in front of us and ask the Lord to help us discern. Sometimes it comes in the form of surrounding yourself with those who believe in the vision for your life. Other times, it’s allowing God to shift the people out of lives and to stop casting our pearls before people who do not deserve to know. Some people won’t be able to go with us our lives start to shift. A lot of times, the stripping or pruning means there are things you are waiting for on the other side of this turn. We often get so distracted by fear of man or by what’s leaving our lives, that we don’t allow ourselves to be excited for what’s coming. When what’s coming on the other side of the shift is important, you well up with excitement in expectation. Shifting into a new season of life is exciting.

Shifting to the Next Step

Once your foundation in Christ has been solidified and rebuilt structurally, we normally walk out stronger, ready to rattle the cages. What does rattling the cages mean? It’s mean coming into a true understanding of your identity in Christ and walking that out. Do you know your identity, and do you believe what is says about how you are in the Kingdom? Do you know you are a carrier of the Kingdom? We have been given all authority in Christ, Matthew 28: 18-19 “Then Jesus said to them, all authority in heaven on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go make disciples of all nations.” The most important principle in having spiritual authority is based on obedience. Continual obedience and dependent spiritual reality that has a fear and awe of God is what rattles the cages.

Rattle the Cages

Rattling the cages of the enemy leads to ground level warfare. The enemy wants to hide behind lies, but our charge is to set the captives free. Ground level warfare is setting free the captives. In Hebrews 2:14-15 (Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.) Jesus showed in their humanity to break the power of the enemy and set the captives free. In Matthew 10:8, Gods charge is to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those of who have leprosy. This is how you defeat principalities around you, and it shifts the atmosphere from fear to faith. Ask God – how do I do this? We don’t give up, adjust our expectations and see the results of our prayers – the prayer of faith starts with our words. Prayers of authority come out of your walk. Tiny answers to prayer have to be led by the spirit. The Holy Spirit wants to get to the root of all issues (root issues and symptoms) and enable you to walk out Luke 10:19 where it says we overcome all power of the enemy.

Now What? Look Ahead with Expectation

You’ve walked through the shifting season, you’ve come into a deeper understanding of your identity and now, you practice what you’ve learned. The keys to keeping your spiritual doors open after shifting your foundation is to practice gratitude and thanksgiving. The Lord says: Stop talking about your troubles all the time. Instead, talk about Me and how I am faithful. Talk about how I am fixing all your troubles and working them out for your good. Use the phrase, “But God”, whenever the enemy tempts you to feel sorry for yourself. Thank me, seek me and ask me what to do to receive the specific rewards I have for you, and I will reveal My strategies that you will need to carry out to reap the fullness of your harvest. Let’s go rattle some cages!
