In her early twenties Heather was living inside a story many survivors know, and leaving it took divorce, starting over, and more help than anyone expects. That season is one paragraph of her life, not the whole book, but it is why the resources page on this site exists.

Healing was not one season and it was not quick. It was counseling, scripture, honest friends, and a faith that got deeper the longer she stayed in it. This is the part of the story she says almost nobody describes accurately.

Cancer and loss each asked her to rebuild from further down. Each one ended up inside the books she would later write, and each one is why she can say the life on the other side is real without it sounding like a slogan.

The outdoors with her family, travel, and whatever adventure comes next. She wrote it down as it came: Deeply Wounded Hope, and the books that followed for the hard chapters and the sleepless hours.
