Each year brings new highs and lows. 2024 was no exception. A year of healing, learning how to parent better and meet the needs of my kids, and growing a business while trying to have relationship proved to be a year of great growth. It was also a year of political turmoil in our country, and this caused great shifting towards prayer and repentance. Many people stood in the gap praying and continuing to pray for the healing of our country. As we have barreled towards 2025 (and time has felt like it’s speeding up), we have to ask ourselves to what end is this happening? The quickening of our spirits is towards the return of the Lord and as the new year dawns, its apparent good things are coming.
Keep Sowing Seed
With each year comes new opportunities to sow into other people’s lives, ideas, businesses and ministries. God is asking us to plow the ground and to keep going. ‘So, let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.’ Galatians 6:9 This year, at several times, I wanted to give up on each area of life. God would gently remind me to keep going. To stop striving or being distracted, but to keep putting the important things in the forefront of my life and mind. Being intentional and honestly just turning off the noise has helped me to refocus.
Take Each Turn and Keep Going
There are going to be roadblocks, bumps, turns and many forks in the road in 2025, but keep going. No matter what happens with each turn in the road, you have to keep putting one foot in front of the other. I’ve held 2025 with open hands. Someone asked me what I hoped to do this next year, and I honestly replied, I’m open. Open but determined to keep going. This includes helping and sowing into people’s lives. Asking the Lord who to sow into, who to pray for and where to lay pearls is important as you learn to shake off the dust.
Experience His Goodness
We should, but don’t always, expect His goodness to be present in our lives. As we intentionally live out our call on our lives, recharging and spending time with the Lord will open our eyes to the goodness before us. He shows us goodness in the tiniest things, and we need to be aware of them. Ask the Lord to open your eyes to His goodness, his kindness and the littlest of miracles. The year ahead will be one of seeing His goodness in the land of the living. It will be a time of experiencing the harvest of what you have sown in previous seasons. So, hold onto his goodness and be expectant of all that is to come. 2025 is going to be a great year.
