Just Breathe

So I’ve been in love with this song Breathe before it hit the airwaves in 2015. This song holds so much meaning in my life with two little ones. Many families have navigated two kids 15 months apart, but this was not what I envisioned in my head as a family. When we were going through infertility, we thought for sure our kids would be at least two years apart given the hurdles to get them here. Surprise when Madelyn showed up, but that’s a blog post for another time. What struck me about this song, outside of the fact that Jonny is a wonderful song writer, is the tempo and crescendo...

Distracted

Yesterday having children brought a whole new meaning to the words ‘car accident.’ As the guy hit the side where my son Harrison sits I freaked out. We got over to the side of the road and exchanged information. We were both apologetic about the whole thing with the accident being my fault. Thank goodness no one was hurt! Before the accident happened I had an unpleasant phone conversation with a friend. It bothered me so much I made a bad decision and turned left through a yellow light which turned red. Madelyn is here!

September was a busy month! My two main focuses were having a baby and finishing my book. Both were big milestones and two of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. Madelyn was due September 28th and finally decided to show up October 1st. We tried everything to get her here and finally decided surgery was the best option. Harrison, her big brother, is still not sure about her and if he could talk I know he’d say ‘take her back.’ Our surprise baby is very sweet and were enjoying every moment. Below is the first time Harrison met...

This week marks the three year journey of having children. Since the beginning of August, 2012, I’ve been pregnant, miscarrying or having children. What a journey! Below is excerpt from my upcoming book which will finally be done in August. Only fitting, huh? Enjoy! Entering into a Season of Hope As we moved onward from the third pregnancy, we entered a new season of hope. We knew we had to start enjoying the life God had given us, and to find joy in the little moments. Joy, as a fruit of the Spirit, is the one I’ve struggled with the most, and also the one I’ve understood the most. Because...

New occupation

Posted by on Jun 14, 2015 in Kids | 0 comments

Today for the first time I filled in Stay at Home Mom as my occupation. My sweet husband had given me a massage as a gift for Mothers Day. They asked what my occupation was and I hadn’t answered that question in a while. It was different, but made sense. This really is my new reality for the next few years. I’m still working through what that means and how to do it well. I got to sit and really think about what that means for me and my family. There are still things I get to do such as consulting, working on my book (finally) and volunteering for causes close to my heart. It’s important for...
