One year later

Saturday marks one year since my little peanut, Madelyn, entered this world. She has made life so enjoyable with her sweet spirit and laugh. There are days after my surgery, I sit in awe of my kids. Their happiness, fervor for life and joy remind me of what’s important. This past year has been filled with such joyous fun and difficult times. I still can’t believe the last 6 months were filled with constant pain and coming out on the other side has shown me how to live with fervor and focus. Commit Your Plans

A few weeks ago, my husband and I were thrown a huge curveball. We found out I was nine weeks pregnant and didn’t know. It has been a whirlwind of crazy thoughts, pure exhaustion and asking questions like ‘how did this happen?’ After we found out, this verse was put in front of me Proverbs 16:3 “Commit your actions to the Lord and your plans will succeed.” I’ve been dwelling on it ever since because I had not committed one single thing to the Lord and had just planned my life. Joy

Going through trials (domestic violence,  waiting for the right husband and infertility) ultimately gave me a new perspective on joy. We are called to be joyful regardless of our circumstances, which baffled me in the midst of trials.
